The Ghana social media space was thrown into quite the frenzy on Tuesday, following a birthday wish tweeted at dancehall artiste Shatta Wale by President Akufo-Addo.
The official presidential Twitter account wished the Shatta Movement overlord a happy birthday, and invited him to the presidential palace, in pidgin.
This hilarious and unusual use of the language by a president drew mixed reactions from Ghanaians who were shocked by the birthday wish.
There were those who didn't appreciate the tweet
Surprisingly, that hasn't happened yet
The president doesn't manage his own Twitter account though
Or maybe the president also just has less serious side?
Relax, it's not that deep
So far, it has been more of positive than negative reactions to the president's tweet, as many social media users found it refreshing for the president to exhibit a 'fun side.'
Shatta Wale was especially impressed by the tweet and was delighted by the invitation.
