The Member of Parliament for the Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Agyapong, has faulted the State Transport Corporation (STC) over its attempt to take over a terminal at Asafo in Kumasi.
According to the popular lawmaker, STC is merely trying to reap where it has not sown.
He wondered why officials of the STC suddenly show up when the work is done, adding that there were nowhere in sight when VIP began to develop the place.
To him, STC has no case at all because the space does not belong to them.
He therefore asked STC to stay away from the terminal and busy themselves with the search for a new location.
Hon. Agyapong has therefore cautioned the VIP Transport Service to ensure that all the required documents to prove their ownership of the place are intact, in order to prevent future litigations.
On Monday 16th October 2017, news of a clash between workers of STC and VIP broke out; the issue at hand was the veracity or otherwise of claims of ownership of a terminal located at Asafo, in Kumasi.
One person was allegedly arrested by security agencies who went to the scene to restore calm.
