The Chief Scribe of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has described as false the claims made by his deputy, Koku Anyidoho, that he has backed down from his position.
The NDC secretary popularly known as General Mosquito, said he has not employed anyone in the NDC to speak on his behalf.
Speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM, the NDC man who was clearly livid insisted that he is not the one to appoint Koku Anyidoho to succeed him even if he decides not to run for the position.
“Everyone should have known the claim by Koku Anyidoho is not true. I’m not a king maker to decide who succeeds me even if I decide not to contest”, he fumed.
The NDC General Secretary disclosed that he became alarmed and disappointed when he first read the news about his deputy online.
Asiedu Nketia added that, “I was shocked when I saw the story online. I thought it was fake but Koku is not my personnel secretary so he cannot make decisions for me”.
He further warned Koku Anyidoho not to use him as cover-up if he intends to contest him in the next race.
General Mosquito called on all NDC members to disregard Anyidoho’s comments and his desperate attempts of wanting him out of his way.
Koku Anyidoho in an interview on Neat FM on Wednesday alleged that his boss will not be running for the party's secretaryship position ahead of the NDC’s congress.
He disclosed that General Mosquito has rather blessed him to take his place because he is the right person for the job.
