- Zimbabwe's 2017 edition is Mr Ugly is set for November 25
- The last edition was held in 2015
- The competition is stiff and two former winners are possible contestants
Zimbabwe is set to hold yet another edition of the famous Mr Ugly pageant.
Organizers have scheduled this year's edition for November 25 in the capital Harare. David Machowa, also known as Apama Styles, said all arrangements are in place.
He said: "Our last edition was a success, we received an overwhelming coverage globally and we are ready to host another classy event of the pageant."
The last edition was held in 2015 and 45-year-old unemployed "beast" Maison Sere clinched the crown. He beat three-time winner William Masvinu.
Despite winning a cash prize, Sere failed to land any commercial endorsement deals the way his predecessor did.
In a past interview, his manager Tawanda Nyikadzanzwa said: "Apart from the winning grant of $500, we were looking for opportunities in form of corporate endorsements but nothing of that sort came our way."
Sere looks set to renew his rivalry with Masvinu, who did not take his loss well. He reportedly said: "You made him the winner simply because of his tooth gaps, so does that define ugliness? Do you want me to remove some of my teeth to reclaim my position?"
