The Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has denied he will be attending this year's ‘Adonko’ Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards.
Dr Bawumia says he has nothing to do with the ongoing television and radio commercials claiming he will be present at the event.
The Communications Director for the Office of the Vice President, Frank Agyei-Twum in a Facebook post dissociated Dr Bawumia from the RTP Awards.
“The Vice President has nothing to do with the 2017 RTP awards and will not be present at the said ceremony,” Frank Agyei-Twum said.
TV and Radio commercials running on various media platforms claim that Dr Bawumia including ex-President John Mahama, Rev. Dr. Boadi Nyamekye and host of other dignitaries have been invited to grace the occasion.
But Mr Agyei-Twum says the media advert is misleading from the side of event organizers.
This year’s RTP Awards organizers seem to be witnessing some major setbacks; as on Wednesday fast rising Ghanaian artiste, Patapaa Amisty who was billed to perform at the event allegedly declined due to some financial misunderstanding.
The ‘One Corner’ artiste was quoted to have said it will be a total disgrace for event organizers not to have him on the show.
Other Ghanaian musicians billed to perform at the night include Ebony, Kurl Songx and gospel singer, Patience Nyarko.
