Yussif Seidu, the driver of the gas tanker involved in the explosion at Atomic Junction, has suddenly passed away.
YEN is reliably informed that he fell unconscious as he took part in a meeting with LPG truck drivers; he was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival at the Tema General Hospital.
According to sources, he escaped unhurt when the unfortunate incident occurred about two weeks ago.
The cause of his demise is yet to be determined; he would however be buried in accordance with Islamic customs.
Information available also reveals that the meeting with the other drivers was also an opportunity to celebrate with him, as he has acquired a new tanker.
A witness revealed that “whilst we were in a conversation with him, he went unconscious.
He was rushed to the Tema General Hospital and after some few checks on him, the doctors pronounced him dead”.
A gas explosion occurred on Saturday 7th October 2017.
Lives were lost and several properties were destroyed by the inferno.
According to sources, 7 people lost their lives and about 132 others sustained various injuries.
Investigations are still ongoing in order to ascertain the actual cause of the explosion.
