Popular Ghanaian boxer, Bukom Banku has called out for a rematch.
The first defeat in his career, Banku was floored in the 7th round when Samir Bastie’s punches proved too much for him to take.
Information available to YEN indicates that he wants the rematch fixed on the 6th of March 2018; on the same day, Ghana would be having its 61st independence celebrations.
“I have accepted I lost the fight. Bastie is a good fighter and he beat me fair and square. I have seen my mistakes and I want to fight him again on the 6th of March.”
He went on to say that “i am not feeling bad that I lost because all the great fighters have lost before even Azumah Nelson. So I am going to correct my mistakes and come back,”
Bastie has meanwhile indicated his readiness for a rematch should the opportunity present itself. He is however yet to officially respond to Banku’s challenge.
The two top boxers clashed on Saturday 21st October 2017; Bastie won in the 7th round.
