Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Kamoko aka Bukom Banku, has disclosed that ex-President Mahama personally called him on phone to console him after his Saturday’s defeat against Bastie Samir.
The reigning boxer suffered a humiliating defeat over the weekend in ‘Make or Break bout with Bastie ‘The Beast’.
The 31-year-old boxer who holds the African Amateur Championship in the welterweight division, humbled Bukom Banku in the 7th round at the Bukom Boxing Arena, in Accra.
However, speaking on Kasapa FM on Monday, the ‘Bukom Champion’ disclosed that he had many people supporting him across the political divide.
He added that even some NPP members including a former Mayor of Accra, Nii Adjiri Blankson offered him support.
“It’s true I am NDC, but I had other NPP members like Adjiri Blankson who supported me. Even John Mahama called me on my phone after the fight and he said God is with me,” Banku said in an interview.
The boxer also revealed that he was aware some NDC members were against him, therefore he is not bothered about the numerous social media trolls.
Banku admitted that he was clearly beaten in the fight and will not blame anyone for his defeat.
“Juju is not used in boxing. I’ve been beaten and I accept my defeat,” he said.
