- The legendary Hollywood superstar had been accused of having a relationship with his step-granddaughter
- The two are said to have had the affair when Morgan divorced his wife of 25 years
Prior to the tragic murder of E'Dena Hines, the step-granddaughter of Morgan Freeman, there had been rumors surrounding her affair with the legendary Hollywood actor.
The first rumors of the scandalous affair came out in 2009, while Freeman was going through a divorce with his wife of 25 years, Myrna.
According to reports, Hines had confided in Myrna about Freeman's approach toward her one fateful night.
This had allegedly happened when Hines was only a teenager and she had been returning home with Freeman from a dinner at his friend's house.
According to insiders, Hines had admitted that they both had been drunk and Freeman had become physically intimate with her before she finally stopped him.
"Hines and Freeman stopped just short of having intercourse.”
The news had unsettled many at the time because, although not being a blood-relative, Freeman had raised Hines "since she was a little girl."
Despite the relationship having ruined Freeman's marriage, and his other relationships, insiders suggest that the duo continued having an affair.
Hines had, apparently, even wanted to have a child with Freeman, hoping that a child would make him commit to their relationship.
Freeman and his sources had denied the rumors multiple times, but their relationship only ended in 2012 when Freeman began dating an accountant from Los Angeles.
At that time, Hines had also come to deny their relationship by saying: “These stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also hurtful to me and my family.”
Only a few years that Hines was tragically stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Lamar Davenport, in front of her Manhattan apartment.
Grief-stricken, Freeman had made a statement at that moment that the world would never know the talent that she had to offer.
