-Cristiano Ronaldo has won the 2017 FIFA best player award, his fifth overall

Portugal and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has emerged as the 2017 FIFA's best men's footballer.
Ronaldo beat long time rival, Argentina and Barcelona star, Lionel Messi and the world's most expensive player, Brazil and PSG's Neymar to win the coveted prize.
The win in London on Monday sees Ronaldo equal Messi's record as the most successful player with five awards.
Ronaldo who led Real Madrid to the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup within the year under review had already been named the European Footballer of the Year.
Other awardees on the night were Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane who was named best men’s coach, Italy and Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon who was named best keeper.
In the female category Lieke Martens of Barcelona and the Netherlands won best player, and Netherlands’ Sarina Wiegman the best coach.
Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud received the Puskas award for the best goal of 2017 for his ‘scorpion kick’ against Crystal Palace in January whille Scottish club, Celtic received best fan award.
