I'll block Kwabena Agyepong's reinstatement - Wontumi

-Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP is disagreeing with calls for the reinstatement of the party's suspended General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.

-He believes Mr Agyepong worked against the party's fortunes before the 2016 elections and would rather have NDC General Secretary given a post in the NPP than his reinstatement

-He has therefore vowed to block any attempts of reinstating him

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako has stated that he will do everything within his means to ensure that the party's suspended General Secretary, Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong is not reinstated.

There have been calls from many groups in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) asking the party's National Executive Committee (NEC).

But Chairman Wontumi believes it would not be prudent to reinstate Mr Agyepong because he and the other suspended national executives had ill intentions for the party prior to the 2016 elections.

"Not everyone in the party wanted NPP in power like we are seeing now and Kwabena Agyepong was one of them”, he alleged.

He has therefore resolved to "resist any move by NEC to reinstate him" and the others vowing “I am going to do everything humanly possible within my powers to stop him from being reinstated as Governor of Ashanti Region”.

For him, it would rather be better if General Secretary of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia was given a position in the NPP than to reinstatING Kwabena Agyapong who worked against NPP in opposition”.

“… After all, Asiedu Nketia and Kofi Portuphy contributed to Nana Addo’s victory in the 2016 polls by sleeping on their jobs as General Secretary and National Chairman of NDC respectively”, he quipped sacarstically.
