- School girls team up to build robot that can cook and clean
- Idea was hatched during the 2017 AfrikaBOT robotics competition
-The students are currently conducting research. They are confident that cooking will never be the same again in near future
A team of four students from Alexandra High School have embarked on mission to build robot that will be able to cook and clean our houses in near the future.
The elephant idea was hatched during the 2017 AfrikaBOT robotics competition that was held in Centurion where the grade 10 pupils, Matebogo Thobejane, Agreeneth Kgasago, Kopano Kgatla and Tshegofatso Mampuru, showcased their robotic skills.
The team leader, Tshegofatso Mampuru, says they are planning to develop a small sensor-driven robot that will drive through a maze without remote control.
“The robot will be able to prepare our meals and help with the house cleaning chores. This, we believe, will give us time to relax and attend to other things,” says Mampuru.
The girls have already started conducting research on what they would need to complete building of the cooking robot.
