Cristiano Ronaldo went on Twitter to thank his fans and team mates for their support throughout the year which saw him record a very productive year.
Ronaldo helped Madrid win both the La Liga and Champions League and also helped Portugal qualify for the World Cup finals in Russia next year.
The attacker was rewarded for his amazing year with the FIFA Footballer of the year award.
The Madrid ace was able to tweet in 280 words rather than the usual 140 words on Twitter.
He tweeted: "Amazing feeling to have won this award again. Want to dedicate to my family, my friends, my teammates and coaches from both Real Madrid and Portuguese NT and everyone who supported me."
He is a part of the global test by Twitter that may soon allow to publish tweets as long as 280 characters.
