The La Presbyterian Senior High School (SHS) first year students' furniture woes have come to a happy ending as McDan Shipping's Chief Executive, Mr. Daniel Makorley, delivered the first batch of desks as promised.
The morning of Tuesday, October 24th, must've been one full of excitement when Mr. Daniel Makorley, CEO of McDan Shipping, delivered 100 classroom desks to the La Presbyterian Senior High School.
According to Mr. Makorley, the desks delivery is only the first batch of what will be his total donations towards improving student's learning conditions, conditions that many deemed to have been shameful considering the fact that the school is practically located at the heart of the capital city.

La Presbyterian Senior High School gained notoriety when reports emerged revealing that first year students were using cement building blocks and wood planks as makeshift classroom furniture.

This prompted McDan's CEO to visit the school to witness the travesty, and got him to pledge to donate furniture to the school.
Speaking on Tuesday, October 25th, students gratefully thanked Mr. Manorley for his contribution to their learning conditions.
“God bless him. We thank him for what he has done for us. May he get a long life; I don’t even know how to express myself today,” said one happy student.
