Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has warned an event organiser in the Upper East region to desist from using his name to promote an upcoming event or face court action.
Billboards have been mounted in the region advertising Shatta Wale and several others as performers for the Northern Youth for Peace and Development (NYUPED) Awards scheduled for October 28.
But according to Shatta Wale, he is not aware of any such programme and has not agreed to perform as being advertised.
Describing the action of the event organisers as "illegal and deceptive", he issued an ultimatum for them to apologise or face the law.
"It has come to our notice that the Northern Youth for Peace & Development (NYUPED) is advertising Shatta Wale as a guest artist for the National Peace Durbar & Awards Ceremony 2017 to be held on Saturday 28th October 2017 at the Bolgatanga Jubilee Park. We wish to indicate that this is TOTALLY FALSE and such action of deception is unlawful and illegal. Management expects an immediate apology from the NYUPED or face the consequences of their action", he warned on Facebook
YEN.com.gh is yet to find out who the organisers of the event are but it is quite common for organisers to play these tricks especially for programmes which are held outside Accra.
