- Antonio Conte is a huge fan of Gareth Bale and he wants to see him at Chelsea
- If Chelsea are going to get him, they will have to fight off rivals Manchester United, who have also shown interest in him
- Bale is currently out injured and appears he is fast becoming surplus to requirements in Real Madrid
Chelsea are ready to make a sensational bid for Real Madrid's winger Gareth Bale, this is according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon.
According to the report, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to reinvest the cash banked from Diego Costa’s sale, who joined Atletico Madrid in January for around £58m.
The Italian tactician is reportedly ready to put that money to good use with an ambitious swoop for Bale.
Don Balon reckon Chelsea wants to partner Bale in an Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard trio.
It is suggested Conte is well aware that signing the Wales international won’t be easy.
However, he is convinced the club’s profile and stature can help convince Bale to quit Madrid for West London.
According to Don Balon, the 28-year-old’s days at the Bernabeu are numbered, and a move to Stamford Bridge could be lucrative for him.
Chelsea have lots of cash to spend and looks ready to offer a very huge pay rise for the Welsh man.
The Premier League champions could face a stiff competition for his signature though.
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer and would love to bring Bale to Old Trafford.
Bale has been unlucky with injuries since his move to the Spanish capital which saw him miss a whooping 23 matches last season and has missed Madrid's last three matches this season too.
Despite his injury woes, the former Tottenham man has bagged 70 goals in 159 games for the La Liga champions.
