The youth of Bole have foiled an attempt by officials of the National Communication Authority (NCA) to close down a radio station, Kilgi 99.9 FM.
Officials of the NCA, together with technicians and police personnel, were prevented from seizing the transmitter belonging to the station, according to a report by mynewsgh.com.
The report said Nkilgi 99.9 FM was marked for closure for allegedly operating illegally, but the youth in the area besieged the premises of the station when they realised that it had gone off air.

YEN.com.gh understands that the youth, numbering in the hundreds, have massed up at the premises of the radio station to prevent future attempts at shutting it down.
An official of Nkilgi FM said frantic efforts were being made to calm down the irate youth.
He said the youth nearly attacked workers of the station who tried restraining them.
