Premier League champions Chelsea added to the current woe of Everton with a 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge that sent the Toffees parking from the Carabao cup.
The home team got the lead in the 26th minute when Charly Junior Musonda puts the ball on a plate for Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea), who has an easy finish with a header into an empty net- making the score is 1-0.
The host doubled their advantage in the third minute of extra time to make the score 2-0.
The Toffees got a consolation goal in the sixth minute of extra time when Oumar Niasse rounded the goalkeeper and sent a sweet pass to Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Everton), who had an easy finish to put it into an empty net.
The victor takes Chelsea to the next round of the Corabao Cup where they will join the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal who have all made it to the next round respectively.
