“Oh boss what I can say is that, I’m really content with how far my song has travelled but I can sincerely say that I can’t boast of GH¢1000 in my pocket from this hardwork”, he told Kasapa FM's Gattuso in an interview.

This was revealed by Sleeky Promotions, organizers of the event, during an interview on Takoradi-based Empire FM.

Apart from the performance fee, the organisers also paid his travel expenses, accommodation and food.

Patapaa recently came in the news for refusing to perform at the 2017 RTP Awards because the organisers had offered a meagre GHC1,000 as performance fee.

The GH¢5,000 he recently received, however, is one of his highest paychecks, if not the highest since he released the track.
