- Spio Garbrah is accusing the NPP administration of cronyism
- According to him, top government officials are giving jobs to girlfriends
The former minister for trade and presidential hopeful for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ekwow Spio Garbrah, is accusing government officials of giving jobs to the girlfriends of some powerful men in the country.
According to Spio Garbrah, the NPP administration is currently running a “family and friends administration” which continues to offer contracts and jobs to members of Nana Addo’s close circle.
Speaking on Metro TV’s “Good Evening Ghana”, Spio Garbrah also lamented the high level of political vigilantism in Ghana, warning that the international community is currently worried about the development.
The NDC bigwig urged Nana Addo to work fast in ensuring that such a menace is wiped out.
The comments by Spio Garbrah follow bouts of attacks on government institutions by pro-NPP vigilante groups.
Although Nana Addo has instructed police officials to bring members of such groups to order, political critics still insist that the president is gradually losing the war against political vigilantism.
Spio Garbrah is gearing up to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to victory in the 2020 election.
The former trade minister says he has what it takes to compete against ex-president Mahama for the role of flagbearer ahead of the main presidential election.
The desire to be the presidential candidate for the NDC has also been expressed by second deputy speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin, who also insists he is the best person to lead the party to victory.
