- Lutfa sells flowers on the streets
- She and her mother fled from her dad
- Her dad wanted to make her disabled so he could use her for begging
A young girl in Bangladesh has shared how she fled from her father who wanted to make her disabled so he could use her for begging.
Lutfa told her story to photojournalist GMB Akash, who then published it on his Facebook page.
She said she and her mom live on the streets, adding: "I do not know, what my mother actually does; she sleeps whole day and works at night when I sleep."
She sells flowers for a living and does not beg. However, life is still difficult for her. She sometimes looks at rich children and wonders if their parents ever wanted to make them disabled too.
She added: "One day a rich mom [bought] all my flowers for her girl but when the girl wanted to give me money, she said not to touch me, I might have disease. The baby girl threw the money in the air and I caught. The day made me best flower seller among all."
Her story touched many commenters, who sympathized with her. See some of their reactions below.
