Madam Cecilia Dapaah, Minister for Aviation, has stated that government will endeavor to help Ghana's senior football team captain, Asamoah Gyan, in his plans to establish a new airline.
At Ghana's first Aerospace and Aviation Exhibition, President Nana Akufo Addo announced that Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan had been given the proper licensing for him to be able to establish a private airline company, a company expected to be called Baby Jet Airlines.
In his announcement, President Akuffo lauded Asamoah Gyan's vision, and said that his administration is intent on improving the domestic airline industry.

Speaking on Starr FM, Aviation Minister Cecilia Dapaah stated that government is going to provide the right environment to ensure that Asamoah Gyan's move to go into the airline industry is successful.
"My vision as an Aviation Minister is to grow the aviation sector through Infrastructure Development and Airlines. I wish Asamoah Gyan very well and we’ll support him for taking this bold step to start an airline. I will urge all Ghanaians to support Baby Jet airlines," she said, speaking to show host Francis Abban.

The Aviation Minister also touched on the issue of government setting up a national airline, saying that it is yet to take place because government was still looking for the right partner.
“We don’t know our partner yet but I can assure all that we’ll get the best. We are looking at best practices around the world and we’ll start in a modest way and Grow." She said.
