Assembly members in the Tamale municipal area have put together a petition, with the aim of passing a vote of no confidence in the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Iddrisu Musah Superior.

According to a report by mynewsgh.com, the 31 assembly members, have described the MCE as disrespectful, indifferent to laid down procedures and fond of taking unilateral decisions.
They have also accused him of awarding contracts without due process, disregarding and disrespecting assembly members.
Other charges are taking and acting on serious issues without prior approval of the assembly.
He has again been faulted for lying to and withholding information from assembly members and the people of Tamale.
Again, he has been accused of mismanaging assembly resources and acting very hostile towards assembly members.

They have therefore called for an emergency meeting in accordance with order 19 (3) of the standing orders of the District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies of Ghana.
This is to enable them conveniently remove him from office.
Iddrisu Musah Superior has however has described a petition filed for that purpose as “limbless, flamboyantly outrageous and baseless”.
He again stated that he isn’t intimidated by the action.
He has meanwhile expressed his willingness to avail himself to the laws of the land.
