The brass band group of one of the renowned Senior High Schools in Ghana, Adisadel College has taken Ghana Dance hall music to another level and it has warmed hearts of both present and past students of the institution.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the brass band at one of its rehearsals was seen playing their own rendition of Shatta Wale’s “Hosanna” and Ebony’s “Sponsor”.
The students who appeared to be having a thrill time showcased their talent on the musical instruments and wowed those who were present with the live rendition of the two hit Dance hall songs.
It is stereotypical to hear brass bands play their own renditions of mostly gospel and high life songs but the Adisadel Boys digressed from the status quo and delivered an excellent performance which was eventually captured on camera.
The highlight of the video was the performance of the conductor who could not help himself to stay calm but went ahead to ‘boogie down’ to the tunes.
The two songs that were performed by the all-boy band are songs that are believed to be very popular among dance hall music lovers. Shatta Wale featured Burna Boy in his “Hosanna” song but Ebony Reigns performed “Sponsor” alone.
Some of the instruments that the young musicians used were trumpets, trombones, tubas. Baritone horns, tenor horns and drum sets.
Adisadel College which is located in the Central Region is noted for its academic prowess resulting in the school’s year-on-year appearance in the National Science and Maths Quiz. They have been crowned winners of the quiz competition a number of times.
