A woman who braved the storms to save a 10-year-old boy from drowning has died in the process.

Abigail Mensah Oklu is reported to have met her fate when she cited the young boy drowning in rainwater around the Akosombo-Cocumbine community in the Eastern region.
Reports by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) show that the 22-year-old woman died in the drainage together with the young boy.
District director of NADMO, Love Dusi has revealed that the mother of the deceased boy was notified about how her son was playing along with the sides of an open gutter during the heavy downpour.
According to the director, efforts to save the boy resulted in the lady losing her life in the process. Meanwhile, both bodies have been deposited at the morgue and further investigations continue.
