- Rev. Owusu Bempah has called on Ghanaians to stall on their criticisms of the new government
- He says Nana Addo has been in power for only 10 months and it is not enough time to criticize him
The founder of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International. Rec. Isaac Owusu Bempah, has asked Ghanaians to remain patient with President Akufo-Addo and his government.
According to him, it is still early days yet with the new government, especially since the previous administration wreaked havoc on the country’s economy.
He noted that Nana Addo needed adequate time to restore stability to the country.
He expressed surprise at the opposition National Democratic Congress' determination to always criticize the government after only 10 months in power.
Speaking on Accra-based Okay FM on Monday, Owusu Bempah stated: “Nana Addo is just one year in office; why won’t people have patience? I still think he is planning for the country. I am not doing politics [but I think] the heart he has for this nation, if we will be calm, everything will be okay. We should be patient. I believe in Nana Addo and I know he will move Ghana forward.”
The reverend further urged members of the New Patriotic Party who have not been appointed into government agencies, to push past their disappointment and attempts to derail the government’s efforts and rather focus on supporting the president to fulfill his promises.
Owusu Bempah asserted that the government led by Nana Addo is here to serve the people of Ghana and not members of the NPP.
Meanwhile, a former national organizer for the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan, has called on Rev. Owusu Bempah to end his interference with the country’s political issues.
According to him, the reverend's association with the ruling government goes against the conduct of a person who is supposed to lead God’s children.
He stated if he were to be a member of Owusu Bempah’s church, he would never go for counselling as he could be influenced by the pastor to support the NPP.
