- Spio Garbrah says Nana Addo will only survive a four-year term
- The former trades minister argues that the NPP can't break the order left by former president Mills
Presidential hopeful, Ekwow Spio Garbrah is predicting the first-term presidency for Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
The former trade minister is making the case that since the demise of former president Mills, there continues to be this trend of the one-time presidency which the NPP can't escape.
According to him, the death of former president Mills affected the political destiny of Ghana in that all presidents who come after him are under a code of having to serve for just a 4 year period.
"The death of President Mills opened up the door of one term and that I think also in a certain physiological way made it easy for the people of Ghana to say let President Mahama also sit down even after one term,” Spio Garbrah argued.
Meanwhile, Spio Garbrah has expressed interest in leading the NDC to victory come the 2020 elections. The former trade minister believes he remains the best person to secure victory against Nana Addo in the much-awaited elections.
