-Speaker Prof. Mike Oquaye is angry with members of Parliament over their lateness to House
The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the conduct of Members of Parliament (MP) after he met an almost empty chamber on Tuesday, October 31.
The House was supposed to sit but when the Speaker entered the chamber, there were only five MPs in their seats as at the 10:00am proceedings were scheduled to start.
An obviously angry, Prof. Oquaye admonished members and charged leaders of the House to get members on the floor to do business on time.
“Our people who pay us expect that work should be done, so let us at least take the opportunity to see how we can contain the situation to ameliorate the problem rather than taking advantage of it and going home,” he said.
