- Former Power Minister says the NDC were fed up with power and gave it away

Former Power Minister under the John Mahama administration, Mr. Kwabena Donkor, has stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost power to the now ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) due to misguided public comments on behalf of a few members of the party.
According to Mr. Kwabena Donkor, former Power Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Pru East constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, the NDC party is now in opposition due to aggressive comments against religious leaders.
“We have insulted pastors, religious leaders and everybody. …it is when you have no argument you turn to insult. The insults will not help," said Hon Donkor.

Touching on the subject of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensa Otabil, Hon. Kwabena Donkor related that the ICGC Head Pastor's vote has always fluctuated between the two main political parties.
“I am a member of International Central Gospel Church, Christ Temple and I argue with Pastor Mensa Otabil more than anybody when we close from church and he has never voted one party throughout," said the NDC bigwig.

According to the Pru East legislator, there are mor eNDC members in ICGC than there are NPP members. Mr. Donkor stated that the NDC was "fed up" with political power "gave it away" to the now ruling NPP. He went on to say that intellectuals in the party should change they interact with other people.
"We must change our style of campaigning," he said.
