Premier League giants Manchester City have qualified for the knock out stages of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League after beating Italian side Napoli 4-2 on Wednesday night, November 1.
But the Citizens had to labor hard for them to get the win in San Paolo thanks to Sergio Aguero who scored the winning goal for Pep Guardiola's men.
Napoli started the match impressive knowing that a win would help them in their fight to secure the second place in Group F, and they did themselves lots of good when Lorenzo Insigne netted the first goal in the 21st minute.
The striker combined well with Dries Mertens to send Manchester City goalie Ederson Moraes the wrong direction.
But Nicolas Otamendi equalized for the visitors in the 34th minute with a fantastic header in which Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina had no answer for.
Defender John Stones netted the second goal for Manchester City with a superb header in the 48th minute after an excellent corner kick by Leroy Sane.
But Leroy Sane later turned to a villain when he fouled Raul Albion in the box for Jorginho to score a penalty for Napoli in the 62nd minute.
Two late goals from Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling however condemned Napoli to a 4-2 defeat in front of their faithfuls as Manchester City now comfortably top Group F with 12 points.
