- Head of patrols at the police department is raging over the inability of officers to recite the police anthem
- COP Yaagy is threatening to shoot any such police officer
It is just a shame not to be able to recite the anthem of the Ghana police service especially when you are a police officer.
This is according to the director general of police in charge of national patrols, COP Yaagy Akuribah, who has threatened to mercilessly deal with such officers.
According to the aggrieved officer, he does not mind shooting any such officer in the country.
It all happened when senior police officers in the Northern region failed to recite the police anthem during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Youth Employment Agency.
“Is it not in front of your divisional headquarters? Every office is supposed to have it – commander do you have it? So you see, if you go out somewhere, you say you are a policeman – Ghana Police Service and then they ask you what’s your mission and you don’t know, if I have a gun I will shoot you,” the aggrieved officer lamented.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service is expected to open its doors to people who wish to enlist as officers. He indicated that about 8,000 people would be added to personnel in the service.
