The Blues have had an inconsistent season so far, especially at the back where Chelsea have been leaking in goals.

A.S Roma put six past Antonio Conte men's men in two matches, but the show of shame from the blues on Tuesday October 31 has raised more questions about the readiness of Chelsea to defend their EPL title this season.

However Chelsea's Belgian goalkeeper who put up some impressive saves in Rome to keep the score at 3-0 has given his verdict on the crunchy tie against Mourinho's men.

Courtois said “City are nine points ahead of us, United four, Tottenham just one, So if you want, this game is a must-win game to remain at the top and remain close to the other teams.

"We will try to get the three points at home and we will give our lives for it on Sunday.”

Chelsea have suffered injury problems this season, influential midfielder N'Golo Kante has been out injured but could be in contention to start against United after returning to tainning, but Chelsea will be without right back Victor Moses.

Chelsea struggled in midfield as Roma pulled Bakayoko and Fabregas around which as once again made people raise the question of how Nemanja Matic got sold to United by Chelsea.

But Courtois suggested the Serbian midfielder had had his heart set on a reunion with Mourinho anyway.

Courtois went on: “If a player nowadays wants to go to a team, then he has – I don’t want to say the power, but if he has a strong will to leave and join another team then it is hard for the club.

“You cannot just ignore him and say ‘you cannot leave’ because then you have a disappointed player who won’t play at his best.

“So obviously for us you give a player to another big team, but they are choices that are made in football and we have some quality midfielders, So I hope we can show on Sunday that we are better.”

Conte will hope Courtois is in the mood against United to help stop United fire power attack of Lukaku, Rashford and Martial, Chelsea will hope Hazard and Morata give the United defence something worry about.
