- Arsene Wenger has stated clearly that Alexis Sanchez will not leave Arsenal in January
- The Chilean striker has refused to commit his future to the Premier League club
- League leaders Manchester City have signified their interest to sign the player
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that embattled Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez will not leave the Gunners when the January 2018 transfer window opens.
Alexis Sanchez has refused to commit his future to Arsenal with many believing that the former Barcelona star wants a move to Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is also reported to be interested in a reunion with Sanchez as the duo have worked together at Barcelona.
''You say everybody think City will come in for Alexis in January, and I am part of everybody and I don’t think he will go.
''Do City need him? They have to decide that. But we need him here.
“I expect him to be motivated against City but that is always the case,’ Wenger added ahead of Sunday’s meeting between his side and Manchester City.
