Shatta Wale’s influence on the Ghanaian populace appears to be soaring with each passing day, with one of his ardent fans ready to study his unique branding style as her thesis topic.
The dancehall artiste has been one of Ghana’s most consistent performers over the last seven years, following the reinvention of his music career.
And it appears his re-branding has impressed one university student so much that she wants to study it as a topic in school.
The student, who goes by the name Lydia Takyi, took to Shatta Wale’s Facebook page to disclose her plans.
Commenting on the “dancehall king’s” Facebook wall, she wrote: “I am proud of your re-branding. Thinking of doing research on you. ‘Re-branding in Entertainment Industry in Ghana: The case of Shatta Wale.”
This comes after Shatta Wale paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House on the invitation of the latter.
The dancehall artiste also spent some quality time with hawkers and market women in Nima as part of his birthday celebrations, donating gifts to some of his fans.
It’s fair to say Shatta Wale is now Ghana’s most followed artiste when it comes to fanbase.
