-Mother meets woman who saved her daughter 23 years ago
-She has been searching for the good Samaritan to say thank you in person
-The two women met after local media published the mother's story and conveyed her heartfelt appeal for help to find the person who rescued her daughter
About 23 years ago, Linda Landry's little girl, Crystal van der Poll, suddenly went missing.
The then three-year-old kid was reportedly with her aunt, Sandra, at a train station when she wandered away and got lost while her aunt was busy checking train timetable.
"Sandra searched for her everyone but couldn't find her. So she decided to report missing person at Cape Town Central Police(South Africa). Surprisingly, when she arrived at the station, she found Crystal siting on a desk with cop's cap on her head," says Linda from Hout Bay.
According to the Cape Town Central police, the tiny and innocent Crystal had been picked by a good Samaritan who allegedly found her playing with telephone in street with no adult in sight.
Linda was later reunited with her daughter. She immediately started looking for the nice stranger to say thank you to her for saving Crystal.
Several years later, Linda was yet to meet her daughter's savior, whom she calls her hero. So she decided to seek help from the media. Daily Voice published her story.
Miraculously, the woman who saved Crystal came across the story.
“When I saw the article I was very surprised because I could not believe they were looking for me all this while,” says Nazlie Malgas, 61.
Thanks to Daily Voice's article, Linda finally met Nazlie.
