TV show host and budding actress, Regina Van-Helvert has shocked many people including those on set of a movie she is involved in after shaving off all her hair just to play a role in a cancer-themed movie.

The actress revealed that she was given the option to use a cap that was going to conceal her hair or shave it all off for the role. She said that after reading the script, she wanted to be more in touch with the role so she decided to shave off her hair for her part.

The actress went on to reveal that the role was emotional and challenging judging by how young she was but taking on such a huge role.

The “Rhythms Live” show hostess indicated that her role in a movie which is believed to be titled “Swings” was that of a young lady (Toni) who as battling cancer and was going through chemotherapy.

Regina’s character depicted a young girl who was in pursuit of love and happiness but unfortunately realized that she was suffering from cancer.

Regina Van-Helvert indicated that at some points, she had to play double role in the movie which was directed by Pascal Amanfo.

The love, life and chances-themed movie stars some big names in the industry including Yvonne Nelson, Ian Wordi, Fella Makafui, Chris Attoh, Henry Adofo and Peter Ritchie.

The movie is expected to be out in cinemas on November 25 and it will have its first viewings at the Accra and West Hills Malls.
