- Brazil centre back David Luiz was dropped from Chelsea's squad that faced Manchester United
- Luiz and Conte have not had the best of relationships this season as the Brazilian was recently seen questioning Conte's tactics
- Youngster Christensen replaced Luiz and played very well against United
- Conte has now warned the rest of the Chelsea squad that they can also be dropped
David Luiz was dropped by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte for the crunchy tie against Manchester United on Sunday, November 5, and was replaced by youngster Christensen.
Conte has now warned all other Chelsea stars that the same fate that befell David Luiz can also befall them.
Luiz questioned Conte's tactics in last week's training after Chelsea's uninspiring performance against Roma in the Champions League.
Chelsea coped well with Luiz as they went on to defeat Jose Mourinho's United with a powerful header from Morata and defensively the English champions were not so threatened.
Conte said: “It’s only a tactical decision, only a tactical decision, only a tactical decision. He has to work really hard otherwise they are on the bench or in the stand.
“It’s normal. This can happen to every one of my players, if I see that they are not in good form. I have to put my face in every situation, and then to sometimes make important decisions.
“I must take the best decision for the club, not for a single player. Sometimes I can make mistakes. Sometimes I can do the best things for my team."
The Italian gaffer also said he “didn’t know” whether Luiz had a future at Chelsea he sidestepped the issue by joking about the fact his own at Chelsea is now a hot topic.
Conte said: “I have a squad with 16 senior players, and five young players.
I have to make the best decision for the team. I try to do this. But are you talking about the future?
“Every day you put my future (in the spotlight). I think it’s normal that, from now until the end, every game, every day, someone puts my future in discussion. In question.”
Conte who had once called the Brazilian defender Luiz his best defender was reminded about his praises of Luiz, he said dismissively: “It can change. It can change.”
The victory over United now sees Chelsea sit in third position just a point behind Manchester United and nine points behind log leaders Manchester City.
