He is mostly known for the ‘Madea’ character he created and performs.

Perry is one of Hollywood’s most powerful filmmakers, writers, producers, and even actors.
Also, Perry’s first book reached number one on the New York Times Best Seller list and was voted book of the year.
He received BET Comedy Awards for ‘Outstanding Actor in a Theatrical Film’ in 2005 and ‘Outstanding Writing for Theatrical Film.’
However, producer Perry never had it all smooth from the beginning.
He was once homeless, living on the streets of Atlanta, Georgia.
Perry revealed the sad, yet amazing story of how he ended up on the streets of Atlanta.
He moved to Atlanta to launch one of his plays, put his show up working in a used car, as a bill collector.
Perry expected about 1,200 people for the weekend show but was shocked having only 30 people.
‘My car payment, rent, everything was tied up in it so I ended up homeless with no money and nothing to my name,’ he explained.
Perry shared what he did differently and how it changed his life forever.
He sat down with audience members and listened to how his plays impacted them and that changed him.
Since then, his intention became how to serve other people and how to lift them.
