-The process has begun and is expected to be completed by the end of this year
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has started processes to engage 22,802 new staff for first and second cycle institutions.
This follows a directive from the Ministry of Education after it received clearance from the Ministry of Finance to go ahead with the exercise.
According to the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh the number which includes, new recruitments, re-appointments and replacements of staff on study leave and retirement.
"The entire process of employment of these staff will be completed by the end of the year," he disclosed while answering a question posed by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akatsi North, Mr Peter Nortsu-Kotoe in Parliament on Tuesday, November 7.

He assured that the engagement of the 22,802 staff had been catered for in the 2017 budget.
