He added that he has been sidelined for so long, simply because he hails from the region.

Denning Edem Hotor claims that he has always been paid less as a result of the fact that he is an Ewe.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Volta Regime Music Group (VRMG) hails from Dzodze in the Volta Region.

He made the comments during an interview on Behind the Fame on Drive Time on Joy FM with Lexis Bill.

He went on to say that “I feel underrated, at a point I feel we are doing much more than we are credited for…I’ve been marginalized but it just doesn’t get to me”.

Edem revealed that there was an instance in which he received the least amount among a group of people, because he is from the Volta region.

According to him, he has heard comments such as ‘your place is not big’

He further revealed that some companies are hesitant to go to the region, because they are doubtful of the returns on their investment.

He however added that participants in events such as Miss Ghana and Ghana’s Most Beautiful tour the region, because they are national events.

“You’ve never seen Mentor go to my region to do a talent search; you’ve never seen Stars of the Future scout anybody in my region,” he added.

He therefore called for a change of perception so that there could be progress with respect to national growth and development.

Edem also made a passionate appeal to the president about the construction of a football stadium in the region.

He revealed that Volta region has no stadium and as such there is difficulty in grooming future football stars.

Following Shatta Wale’s visit to the Flagstaff House to meet President Akufo-Addo, the rapper concluded that, “also, I know you are a fair father so next year is my birthday so I will expect an invite,” and “I want a Lexus.”
