Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku scored twice to end his month long goal drought with a hilarious goal that put Belgium 2-1 ahead in the game.
Chelsea star Eden Hazard had earlier put the his national team ahead scoring off a rebound from a shot from Lukaku.
The former Everton star made the breakthrough in the 55th minute when he miss-controlled a cross from the right.
Fortunately for Lukaku, the touch was so bad that the ball went in the direction of the goal and beyond the reach of the Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa to make it 2-1 to Belgium.
Lukaku added his second and Belgium's third to tie the game at 3-3, It was a simple finish from inside the six-yard box from a pin point cross from Mertens.
This will be a welcome news for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United fans and hope he carries the goalscoring form into the busy festive period.
