Ghana reggae/dancehall artiste, Samini, has disclosed that his tweet to President Nana Addo is a mere joke.
The High Grade Family boss says his plea to be invited the Flagstaff House is a complete prank therefore Ghanaians must not take it serious.
Samini’s latest comments come as a shock to many, and have received mixed reactions from social media users.
The reasons behind his quick u-turn, however, are unclear.
The ‘Linda’ hit maker, made this latest comment on Empire FM’s Entertainment Show in Takoradi.
He lauded President Akufo Addo’s gesture extended to his fiercest competitor, Shatta Wale.
He stated that he was just excited about the fact that a tweet from Shatta Wale landed him at the Flagstaff House.
According to Samini, Shatta Wale’s meeting with the President at the Flagstaff House indicates the good relationship which the government is willing to create with the music industry; hence his tweet.
“That gives an indication that the President can welcome other musicians to meet with him; that was why I tweeted but it is a joke,” he said.
However, others are of the view that Samini is really obsessed with meeting the President.
According to some reactions on social media, the ‘Where My Baby Dey’ hit maker is showing signs of frustration because his tweet has been ignored by the President.
“How could you joke with the President in this manner,” a social media reaction reads.
With the foregoing, Shatta Wale has questioned Samini’s motive for claiming that his tweet to the President was a joke.
Samini, will in December, start a bus tour to promote his latest single ‘My Own’ in some selected cities.
They include Accra, Tarkwa, Kumasi, Bolgatanga and Sunyani.
