The Finance Minister, Mr Ken Ofori Atta has disclosed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has began a process to provide business funding for about 500 young Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
According to the Minister, government is currently reviewing thousands of business proposals from young Ghanaians and will provide funding support for entrepreneurial ones to grow their businesses.
Presenting the 2018 budget statement to parliament on Wednesday, Ken Ofori Atta disclosed that the Akufo-Addo government is in full gear to open up the country for job creation for Ghanaian unemployed citizens.
The minister in his address indicated that under the entrepreneurial programme, government will focus more on agriculture modernization to create more opportunities for farmers.
“Government is focusing on solving the problem of graduate unemployment across the country. We would want to pursue this in a modern approach to make it more attractive for our graduates,” the minister said.
He also revealed that the Akufo-Addo government will embark on a heavy road rehabilitation and construction programme to enhance food transportation to various market centers in order to create more revenues in the value chain.
