-She faced numerous hurdles in her journey to becoming a nurse, including several deaths in her family
With sufficient ambition, hard work, and determination, you can achieve anything you put your mind into. Faye Lewis is a living testimony.
Lewis, a 27-year-old single mum from Springfield, IL, started her journey to becoming a professional nurse about 10 years ago.
There were numerous roadblocks along the way, including deaths in her family, lack of college fees, and having to juggle between motherhood and multiple jobs. But none of these hurdles thwarted her quest to become a certified nurse.
Lewis had to take up multiple jobs to be able to support her child while at the same time pursuing her nursing career.
She started as a KFC crew member at the age of 16. She went on to work as housekeeper, then a nursing assistant, a licensed nurse and finally registered nurse working full-time.
The hard-working mum graduated with BSN degree last year and is currently pursing a doctorate in nursing program at the University of Illinois.
Her success story has inspired many on social media after she shared photos of multiple work IDs that she has had to wear over the years.
