Jake Amo was initially photographed in 2015 by photographer Carlos Cortes during artist, Solomon Adufah's visit to Asempanye, in the Western Region of Ghana to teach creative studies two years ago while he was still four years old.

Solomon Adufah, a Ghanaian individual now resident in the United States, originally started a charity organization called Homeland Africa to help to education resources for deprived children in Africa.

Mr. Adufah returned to Ghana in July 2017 and went to see Jake Amo once. According to Mr. Adufah's comment to Africa Check, not only is Jake Amo's education coming along nicely, but he's also been enrolled into extracurricular programs to help him with a few of his subjects.

Jake is also enrolled in an extracurricular programme at his school to help him with his English, maths and drawing."

"The Ghana Education Services in the Eastern Region District will continue to monitor his progress in working relationship with Homeland Africa and his family.” Said Solomon Adufah.
