- A Nigerian pastor has burnt herself with hot iron to remove her tattoo

- She claimed she removed the tattoo to show God how much she loves him

Yen.com.gh has come across the shocking story of a female Nigerian pastor who burnt herself with hot iron to show her love for God.

The lady identified as Ifeoma Vivian Emeka claimed she burnt herself with the iron to remove a tattoo she inked on her body in the past.

According to her, she used the method because it was urgent for her to remove the tattoo from her skin.

The young lady who shared the photo of the burnt tattoo on Facebook noted that she did it to show how much she loves God.

She wrote: "I used electric iron on my hands to remove my tattoo, it was urgent so I had to do it…#For the love of Jesus Christ, #ForJesusChrist. Scars to remember, scars for stories, Love of Christ….to show him how much I love him.”

Although, the young lady's method of removing an old tattoo seems extreme it is her way of showing God how much she loves him after finding Christ in her heart.

What the pastor did could be seen as a type of mortification. In Christianity, mortification of flesh is the act of someone who seeks to mortify or evaporate their sinful nature.
