The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo,has expressed shock over the demise of Multimedia journalist, Kwadwo Asare-Baffuor Acheampong aka KABA.
The sudden death of the broadcaster has thrown many into tears after the news was reported today.
President Nana Addo who has been hit by the devastating news in a Facebook post said, “Shocked by the news of KABA’s death. Undoubtedly one of the most talented journalists of his generation. Condolences to his wife, family and Multimedia. #RIPKABA”.
The demise of the journalist was confirmed on early hours of Saturday, at the Korle-Bu Teaching hospital.
Reports say KABA passed away few hours after he was rushed to the hospital for emergency care.
Some unconfirmed reports indicate that the broadcaster died as a result of high sugar level.
KABA was the host of Asempa FM's political talk show, 'Ekosii Sen'. Prior to joining the Multimedia Group, KABA worked with Top Radio in Accra from 2004 – 2008.
He got married to another radio presenter, Valentina Ofori Afriyie in 2016 at Santasi in Kumasi and has a seven month old daughter.
He had his second cycle education at the Techiman Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region and completed in 1999.
He pursued Advanced Broadcast Journalism - Print and Broadcast at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and completed in the year 2005.
After the completion, KABA further enrolled on an educational course at the University of Cape Coast and passed out in 2007.
As a strong anti-corruption campaigner, he used his show to campaign against corruption.
He was recently adjudged the Radio Talk Show Host of the Year at the 2017 RTP Awards in Accra.
