Mr. Gobsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has related how the late Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong's (KABA) wife, Valentina Ofori Afriyie, reacted to the news of her husband's untimely demise.

According to Adom FM's Captain Smart, who was a close colleague of the late Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong (KABA), the late radio broadcaster's wife's initial reaction to news of her husband's death was one of stubborn denial.

Captain Smart related that the Mrs. Valentina Ofori Ariyie refused to accept the reality of her husband's death and insisted that her husband was still among the living.

"My husband is not dead, he is alive", said Valentina Ofori Afriyie to the group sent to deliver the tragic news.

Describing the atmosphere at the late journalist's home, Captain Smart related that a mood in the house was one of tension and solitude. He said that even KABA's usually aggressive dogs were "sober" and remained under the late journalist's car as though they new what had befallen their master.

"Yesterday after the incident occurred, we made the men in the house switch of all televisions and radio devices so KABA’s wife does not get to hear the death of her husband through the media." Said Captain Smart.

He also revealed that the men of the family were asked to switch off all radios and televisions so KABA's wife wouldn't hear the tragic news from the media. The late journalist died after his sugar levels rose to dangerous levels, and was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital but died unfortunately.
