Ghana’s media circles is still reeling from the shock of the death of Asempa FM presenter, Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong, a.k.a KABA, who died in the early hours of Saturday, November 18, in Accra.
The host of the ‘Eko Sii Sen’ current affairs program, was mourned on Monday at a memorial service held at the forecourt of Joy FM.
Among the attendees of the service were several notable media giants across various media houses, as well as some politicians from the ruling and opposition parties.
Several colleagues of the late journalist could not be consoled, as they struggled to hold back tears at the service, while they listened to tributes from different media personalities at the service.
Among the mourners who trooped to offer their condolences and remember the broadcaster, were some of Ghana’s popular celebrities across different industries.
Award-winning gospel singer, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, said a prayer for the departed soul of KABA, stating the news of his death at such a young age was unexpected.
Kumawood actor Akrobeto while trying to find words of comfort in the wake of KABA’s demise, stated: “…..It is KABA’s turn today and it can happen to any of us tomorrow. However, on behalf of actors and actresses, my condolence to The Multimedia Group, KABA’s wife, child as well as his family. All I have to say is that may the Lord guide him.”
Other celebrities who came to offer their condolences at the memorial service were TV host Selly Galley and her husband, Big J Cartel of Praye fame, who described KABA as a humble and passionate radio presenter who was proud of his work and gave his best during his time.
