Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has stated that Ghana can surpass The united States or the United Kingdom in development during an address at the University of Development over the weekend.
Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, who was speaking at the 18th congregation of the University of Development Studies, said the impression that Ghana will continually trail behind the developed world because of its third world status is incorrect.
During his address, Ghana's Vice President stated that people's negative mindsets are also to blame for where Ghana has found itself today, and that once this form of thinking is changed then development will become a reality.
"People have a mindset that we must be behind always. I say no, we can move forward and we can overtake them, you must have confidence and you can do things that are better than what America or the UK can do,” he said.
He also touched on the somewhat controversial issue of the Digital Address System, saying that it is still the best ever implemented by any country on earth.
